My mother would have been 98 today. She passed away 17 1/2+ years ago.

Ripped from the headlines in today's Dayton Daily News. On page 4, It talks about staffing challenges force U.S. students out of classrooms. They mention the Shawnee Mission School District. I can never hear that name without thinking of our own Peter Bath. I think that is where Peter was when he was in Kansas, right Peter? Were any of your girls in school there? I don't remember how old they would have been then.

On page 5 it talks about the Supreme Court blocking the N.Y. virus limits on church. I wondered when the Supremes were going to weigh in on some of the clearly unconstitutional decisions and actions some of the states were undergoing. I think there were probably decisions to forestall the spread of the virus but freedom of assembly and freedom of worship has been restricted in some states.

Page 9 has an editorial about "Society losing art of respecting different political views." That is certainly true. It doesn't seem that you can disagree with anyone without "hating" them. I have a cousin (actually a second cousin but we won't quibble here) who is on the opposite side of the political spectrum from me, and we have had some discussi0ns of the political variety. We disagree on most things political, but the discussions have been respectful, knowing that we will probably not going to change the other's opinions at all. That's how it should be, rather than blowing people up just because they hold different opinions.

I also read today that the basketball game between U.D. (We R, U.D.!!!!) and Cedarville University (When I was at Malone University, they were in the same conference and both of them were colleges at the time) has been called off due to Coronavirus issues. I think we are all getting tired off this virus stuff. Won't we be glad to get back to some semblance of normal, or is this it?
