So here's what I have decided in order to a) say in touch with one another and 2) to find out about each other. This is a unilateral decision by me, so you can't blame anyone on the board. I will be getting in touch with each of you with some questions, the answers of which I will put on the bulletin. There may be other trivia, history and random stuff. I think I will call it Notes, Quotes and Billy Goats. I hope this does not become an annoyance but, if it does, sorry, you'll just have to deal with it.

First of all, answers and responses to the most recent bulletin.

From Brenda:

We'll have one or two meetings IN PERSON in July for those that want to meet in person - and those who don't can join that meeting via Zoom. Members can check out the schedule at ketteringrotary.com for the speaker line up and the meeting style coming up.

From Peter:

Here is a book I read a fascinating tale involving Ohio Presidents!

A local author, Curt Dalton,  who I heard interviewed on WYSO’s book nook wrote the book “The Terrible Resurrection” about an historically accurate event of grave robbing to supply cadavers to the Ohio Medical School in Cincinnati and the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. You will learn why Ohio’s animosity towards Ann Arbor is founded in some weird events! Published in May 2020.

Now, from Andy, I will be contacting each of the members to get answers to the following questions so you can start to get your answers ready. If you want to send me answers first, go right ahead. This can go on for a long time. I found a web site that has 253 ice breaker questions. The first 5 questions with my answers are:

1. What are you doing during the shutdown that is different than what you did before the shutdown?

Not much different than I did before the shut down although I have started to reach out more to friends to reconnect after the last couple of years of MS problems and being depressed about it.

2. What is a recent book that you have read and what did you think about it?

"The Impeachers" by Brenda Wineapple. It is about the impeachment of President Andrew Johnson. There is a lot of similarity to the political climate today.

3. What is the best April fools joke you have ever pulled or had pulled on you?

The first April1 I was at HGH, the firm administrator tried to pull one on me. On April 1, 2002, she told me that she had made an error in doing the direct deposit that week. That rather than depositing my pay check into my account, she had inadvertently withdrawn the amount of the firm's total payroll out of my account. She thought I would blow up about it. She was disappointed that I didn't. I knew that if she would have done that, it would have bounced higher than a kite. I certainly didn't have that kind of money in my bank account. I told her that she should have been concerned that I thought she might actually have made that mistake.

4. Where do you like to go out to eat? Why?
Debbie and I had been going to Another Broken Egg for breakfast one day a week - I like routine and also like going places that learn who you are. That is part of the reason that while I was working I would go with Dick Daily and Tom Mikos to Christopher's 2 to 4 days a week. There is a lot to say for "Where Everybody Knows Your Name". Debbie and I also like going to Meadowlark Restaurant.

5. Do you like to cook? What is your favorite dish to cook? Why? I do like to cook although it is difficult since i can't stand for any period of time.   I like to cook chili. To me, chili is another word for whatever is in the fridge and freezer. We used to have a football/chili party. A bunch of friends and I would go to a UD football game and then come back home for chili. There were also times we would host a chili party for a bunch of Cedarville College (yes it was a college in those days) kids. We would make 5 different kinds of chili. A regular chili, a Hot chili, a Vegeterian chili, a White chili and a Black Bean and Salsa chili.

Ok, so now you have an idea of the routine so start getting your answers ready, I will be getting in touch with you.
