Let's start with something to get the blood flowing Wipe Out - The Ventures https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjiOtouyBOg

More information about the zoo meeting on the 27th.We had a discussion from those at the Kettering Medical Center of what they had to go through with all of the Coronavirus stuff. We have presentations from Peter Bath, Steve Chavez and Bill Largo. Peter started by telling us of the difficulties in coming up with a policy of how to ration equipment. (What a Wonderful World - Sam Cooke) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4GLAKEjU4w&list=PL1MFPYbHMusfAiGYgu7SdFJYwavTfk3Oa&index=17
It is a daunting task to determine protocols who gets the benefit of using equipment and who doesn't get it. Eventually he was kicked off of some purchasing web sites because he had bought so much and so frequently. There was a dispute about whether to wear or not to wear a mask. Whether they really were a benefit or not. Bill Largo told us that ass a hospital system they never had to deal with anything like this before (All over the World - ELO) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wh3i3vWgPyk&list=PL1MFPYbHMusfAiGYgu7SdFJYwavTfk3Oa&index=21
They had to concentrate on safety for patients and staff. With extended hours and longer days they were figuring out what they had to do to achieve that safety. Prayer was a vital component of what they were doing. There was a chaplain always available that people could talk to and pray with as an encouragement. There were wellness thoughts and at every meeting and at every shift exchange. With Kettering Behavior Support group had expanded needs. What they were able to do was a help to the first responders. (Walkin on Sunshine - Katrina & the Waves) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPUmE-tne5U&list=PL1MFPYbHMusfAiGYgu7SdFJYwavTfk3Oa&index=37 This is something that will probably stay once the Coronavirus crisis is over. They are used to viruses in the hospital.Steve Chavez then told us how the virus started slowly but grew tremendously quickly. A lot of time was spent on trying to acquire supplies like N95 masks, gowns etc..Through all of this, Governor Dewine pulled the rug out from under them with the policies they were implementing. Many people were laid off or put on leave. Departments were expected to adjust on the fly and quickly. The emergency room volume dropped significantly. A lot of people use that as their primary care physician but with so many people being hunkered down, they were not out doing things that might cause them to come to the doctor. Recently the volume has started to go back up. There has been a lot of telehealth (ed. note I have had the last couple visits with my neurologists by telehealth. That is also a big thing in Switzerland) (Foggy Mountain Breakdown - Earl Scruggs) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrlqQ1_vZVE&list=PL1MFPYbHMusfAiGYgu7SdFJYwavTfk3Oa&index=39
Some visits can't do telehealth like vision or dental. There have been a lot of masks made. Brenda has made about 2,000 masks and around $3,600 has been raised and donated to the Kettering Rotary Foundation.
