Today we celebrated and welcomed our Kettering Firefighters of the Year, the Chief and Assistant Chief to our club. Since the pandemic derailed last year's event, we had the honor of giving two awards today. The 2020 Firefighter of the Year was Kris Denlinger. The 2021 Firefighter of the Year is Jordan Grogean. Both men received an award, cash gift and plaque. Mayor Patterson will also make a presentation later this month at the City Council meeting on behalf of the city and our club. We also heard about the impact of the pandemic on our local fire department. The compliance of procedures, PPE and other regulations filled up three binders! We appreciate the sacrifices our first responders make for our community every day. We are appreciative of the support that our City officials give to them so they can do their jobs safely and effectively. Congratulations to both men.
