Dawn Kirchner - City of Kettering

Today we welcome Dawn Kirchner, our own City of Kettering Volunteer Administrator!

Dawn is a Dayton native, graduate of Chaminade-Julienne High School, alumni of Wright State University, and current student at the University of Dayton. While her formal training is in biology and environmental sciences, she chose to follow a career path in public outreach.

Shortly after finishing her M.S., she took a position leading school, camp, and community programs at the University of Kansas Natural History Museum. Prior to joining the City of Kettering, Dawn worked at the Dayton Society of Natural History, where she directed several departments including Volunteers, Education, Astronomy, and the Discovery Zoo.

Dawn has had the pleasure of working with volunteers throughout her professional career, and has volunteered her time in hospitals, parks, youth mentoring programs, fundraising events, and on community boards.
