Jay's Seafood Restaurant has been a staple of the Dayton dining scene for over 40 years, has been consistently rated as one of the city's best restaurants, and is arguably the premier independently operated seafood restaurant in Ohio .  Amy Haverstick has been the owner and operator of the restaurant since her father's death in 2009.  Amy will discuss her background in the restaurant industry, and her experiences, challenges, and joys of operating Jay's for the last 10 years.  And Amy will bring a sample of Jay's signature dessert for us to enjoy.
 
Bio:
 
Amy Haverstick grew up in the restaurant industry, working in a succession of increasingly more challenging jobs.  Her background includes, opening both of Cameron Mitchell's Fish Markets in Columbus as the front-of-house manager, working in Chicago as a hostess for both Shaw's Crabhouse and the Capital Grill, and working with her father at Jay's for seven years before his death.  Amy was president of the Miami Valley Restaurant Association, and on the Oregon District Board, the Dayton Visitor and Convention Board, and the Dayton Chamber of Commerce Board.
 
Amy is a graduate of Centerville High School and The Ohio State University.  She has two daughters, ages three and six.
